RESERVE GALLERY The Reserve Gallery is where you may view pieces from both private and public collections. Some reflections on the nature of THE POTTER'S TOUCH. I have spoken elsewhere about pots that come from the kiln with a special energy that transcends even my highest hopes. These are the pieces which seem to appear "from behind my back." Perhaps this elusive experience is what the phrase "potter's touch" is trying to define - the unconscious moments when the artist connects most intuitively and eloquently with the material. These special pieces are selected for the UPPER GALLERY because of their unique place in the history of my work. From the Upper Gallery, some may eventually find their way into public and private collections. The examples which follow, from both public and private collections, are offered to encourage a dialogue between me and website visitors who wish to understand how I evaluate my work. |
