THE STUDIO

If work cycles are the maps that guide me along the path to finished work, then surely the studio is the place where I make my way using the myriad methods and work rituals I so enjoy. Work begins here as idea, and then finds voice with technique and experience, trial and error, and. . . playfulness.

I'll be writing in this area to discuss matters of intrinsic importance to many aspects of studio life. A small sampling of subjects might include: the rewarding involvements an artist experiences with clients, my working relationships with assistants which nurture the development of their own work, stresses inherent in the sixty feet commute to my studio. . . (the bright and dark side of its proximity), what it's like to be a "fire man" who also delights in computers and (most of) the digital realm. . . and much more.
